IDE - Institute for the Development of Entrepreneurship

The Institute for the Development of Entrepreneurship; (hereinafter referred to as IDE) is an internal department of the Faculty of Business Administration at Prague University of Economics. The aim of the department is to support the business activities of young people, assist not just university students with establishing a new company and to provide them with practical information and expertise so as to allow them to develop their businesses in the best possible way.

IDE was established in August 2008; the guru of which is Ing. Miroslav Křížek, PhD, who in the past founded the business incubator at the Prague University of Economics and co-organized the competition for business schemes called “Ideas worth millions”. Both of these activities were supported by IDE after its foundation.

IDE is an internal department of the Faculty of Business Administration at the University of Economics, Prague and is directly subordinated to the Dean of this faculty while implementing their projects as their additional activity. Some of the IDE activities are undertaken in the faculty premises and the entire school - these are for example, specialised seminars and meetings of the IDE Society. IDE also externally cooperates with various external employees. At the same time, IDE functions on a self-financing basis.

IDE GOALS

• To make enterprise activities popular among university students;
• To build an independent student club with common interest in entrepreneurship (IDElita);
• To provide educational seminars, workshops, etc for its members;
• To enable them to meet with successful businessmen where they can discuss their experiences;
• To provide expertise and consultancy during the creation of business schemes;
• To support the launch and development of young, innovative companies within the business incubator;
• To provide the incubator companies with business opportunities and contacts;
• To motivate students to create activity via the launch of a competition for the best business scheme;
• To provide financing of projects in the form of cooperation with groups of investors.
